A very important day on the calendar is the “Grandparent’s Day”. It is considered short in importance as Father’s Day or Mother’s Day.
It is celebrated on OCT 26 but usually pass us unnoticed, basically because it is held in midsummer.
The truth is that, according to the Catholic calendar, we can see that this day is selected because it matches the name day of Santa Ana and San Joaquin, which would be the parents of the Virgin Mary; ie grandparents of Jesus. Therefore, we can not think of a better day to celebrate this important day.
However, unlike other times, it is important to know that this is not the same for everyone. In Poland, for instance, is celebrated on January 21 (the day the grandmother) and on January 22 Grandparent’s Day. In UK is scheduled to be held on the second Sunday of September in Chile is celebrated on October 15 in the US the first Monday in September in France in March, also in Mexico in August.
